The Design 4 U Company helped this Plano Manufacturer to get this Vertical Machining Center back online. This machine was down and sitting on property taking up space. The client was going to sell it back to the manufacturer and buy a new one. They, instead, decided to give it another try and save it to see if it could be repaired and modernized so they could use it to help their production once again.
This machine does vertical milling, which employs a spindle with a vertical orientation.
With a vertically oriented spindle, tools stick straight down from the tool holder, and often cut across the top of a workpiece.
The Design 4 U Company took 2 and half weeks of changing controls, rewiring electrical, program and customizing to their specifications to get it back to par. This client plans to use this machine to help with prototypes for their clients.
